Built to know almost nothing.

Nearphyld is designed so there is almost nothing to protect. This page is exactly what we hold, what we never touch, and how data moves through our system.

What we never collect.

Each of these is designed out of the system, not promised away.

No names

We never ask for or store a name. Identity is a card reference issued by the payment network, and it cannot be turned back into a person.

No emails

There is no account and no inbox. We only ever send the status of an order you are waiting on, plus occasional offers from places you have paid at if you switch them on.

No order contents

We know an order exists and whether it is ready. We never see what was ordered.

No location

We do not track where anyone goes. While an order is live we know which counter it belongs to. If you use rewards, we keep which connected venues your card paid at for 12 months, to count them. Nothing else.

No card numbers

Full card numbers never reach our servers. We only ever hold the card reference the payment network issues.

Nothing sold

Nothing is sold, shared or monetised. There is no advertising, no data partner and no resale. If we cannot see it, we cannot sell it.

How data moves.

What happens between the counter and your lock screen.

Pay

Pay at the counter as normal. The venue’s systems send us three things: the venue, the order and a card reference.

Tap

Hold your phone over our device. It opens a one-time session for that order alone. No app, no account, no phone number.

Pair

Inside that session we pair the card reference with your phone’s push address. That pair is what we keep, so your next payment can find your phone immediately. With rewards on, each visit also counts towards the venue’s reward.

Ready

When the venue marks your order ready on its own screen, it will sync to your phone and a live update will land on your lock screen.

Collected

After you collect your order, it is deleted from our servers and cleared from your phone. The session closes for good.

Next time

Pay at any connected venue and the card reference matches to your phone with no tap needed. Your order syncs to your phone live from the payment alone.
